Sweet mixed grain porridge

Sweet mixed grain porridge is a very popular dessert in Eastern Asia, it can be served either hot or cold.

Personally, I prefer to have it chilled. (^-^)

The porridge is made up of 8 different grains, predominmately rice. Dried fruits, such as dried Longans, are commonly added to enhance the flavour.

Taste: 4.5/5

This particular brand of mixed grain porridge uses purple rice instead of white rice. Other ingredients in the porridge are water, cane sugar, sticky rice, black soy beans, oatmeal, buckwheat, red beans, red kidney beans, myotonin, and dried longans.

The porridge is thick, with a very rich taste, and has just the right amount of sweetness. 🙂

Cost: 4.5/5

Canned Asian porridges usually come with disposable plastic spoons, making serving easy.

The price is usually between NZ$1 – $2 for a can of 350g.

Availability: 5/5

There are many different brands of mixed grain porridge available in Asian supermarkets, and from personal experience, they all taste very nice.

Overall Mark: 4.7/5

Comment: Highly recommended if you have a busy lifestyle and would like something quick and easy, at the same time appetizing. (^-^)
